Netherlands design studios LileSADI and Siebring & Zoetmulder have collaborated on the “Daily Gems” cabinet, which they exhibited at Salone Satellite at Milan Design Week this year.
Siebring & Zoetmulder’s design style involves simple and geometric shapes and natural materials, and their end products are smart and affordable. LileSADI’s style is also fairly minimal and their textiles, wallpapers and other interior products are stylishly simple, so it’s no surprise that a collaboration between the two studios would bring great results.
Daily Gems is a modular cabinet which is functional but also a stylish decoration which allows your objects, whatever they may be, to turn into a kind of still-life painting on your wall. In line with Siebring & Zoetmulder’s signature style, the basis of the cabinet are two interconnected boxes. These have milled lines around them, which can be used as rails for the different additional hand-crafted materials; a screen-printed mirror, metal square, brass triangle and porcelain circle. The geometric shapes, industrial materials and architectural structure were inspired by the city of Rotterdam. Art and function come together to create one piece of poetic design.
