About Feel Desain | Independent Design Magazine since 2010

Feel Desain is an independent online magazine about design and visual culture, founded in Turin, Italy, on 10 September 2010 by creatives Luciano Aiello and Marco Gallo. Written in English for a global audience, it covers design, architecture, art, photography, graphic design, fashion and illustration, with a particular eye for Italian talent and the projects shaping creative culture worldwide.

From a blog to a reference point

We started as a blog with a simple idea: to build a community around creativity and to help young talent find its way alongside established names. The audience grew faster than the blog did. Within a few years Feel Desain had become one of the most followed independent design magazines on social media, with a community of more than 300,000 followers across Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram and X.

Along the way, a few milestones:

2011 Feel Desain joins the blog network of La Stampa, one of Italy’s leading newspapers, curating the photography section Istantanee.
2013 Samsung selects Feel Desain as one of the five most influential online design magazines and trendsetters in Italy.
2014 We launch Feel, our first print issue, collecting the best projects and collaborations published online.
2017 Feel Desain becomes part of the VICE Digital Network.
2018 The second print issue debuts at Forward Festival Munich, in front of 2,000 visitors and more than 40 speakers.

What we publish

Our archive holds more than 7,000 articles, a record of fifteen years of contemporary creativity: new products, architecture, exhibitions, campaigns, photography series and emerging studios. We always start from the image, because in design that is where the story begins, and then tell you why the project matters.

8 Questions With is our interview series with the people who shape creative culture. It has featured Red Dot founder Peter Zec, architect Carlo Ratti, filmmaker Julie Gautier, artist Vincent Bal, illustrators Elisa Talentino and Fernando Cobelo, and motion designer Maxim Zhestkov. We always end with the same question: what is creativity for you?

Print: Feel magazine

We believe paper is still a symbol: something you see, touch and smell. For the second issue of Feel we left the cover white and invited artists to make it their own. Illustrators, photographers, street artists and designers, among them Mauro Gatti, Giorgio Cravero, Mr. Fijodor and the Archivio Tipografico Torino, turned it into a series of original covers, later exhibited as a collection.

Feel Desain has been the official media partner of Design Days Dubai, Saudi Design Week, Design Miami/ Basel, NYCxDESIGN, Designmonat Graz, Clerkenwell Design Week, Forward Festival, Lodz Design Festival, Design Shanghai, Torino Graphic Days and Ladies, Wine & Design Turin, the initiative created by Jessica Walsh.
