On the 12th March, the seventh edition of DesignMarch will kick off, showcasing the best in Icelandic and international design, and turning the Icelandic city of Reykjavik into a design destination for four days, featuring hundreds of openings, exhibitions, events and parties.
The festival is composed of a day of DesignTalks, featuring international speakers, and DesignMatch, a kind of “speed-dating” event to match up designers with producers, retailers, and galleries.
This year’s speakers include award winning graphic designer, art director and partner at New York design firm Sagmeister & Walsh, head of the Design Interactions Program at the Royal College of Art in London Anthony Dunne, and influential men’s fashion designer Walter Van Beirendonck.
The 2015 theme is “Play!”, which will allow designers to show off their more playful approaches, and should make for a fun, inspiring and innovative event. We can’t wait to see the talent that comes out of this year’s festival.
