The Con‐creARte form derives from a self‐produced flexible mold system, which is designed to create various kinds of small concrete object, such as tables, stools, bowl, planters and architectural urban street furniture. The combination between the solidity of concrete, which is the main material of these prototype and the flexibility of mold system allows a strong material like cement to appear soft and elegant such a textile. An interesting combination of conflicting always creates new design, and in this case provides a chance to take look at a brand new furniture which hasn’t been seen before.
For the Salone Satellite 2014 the designer Chun Mi-Jin presented an outdoor furniture set composed by tea table and stool, two small lamps, plant vase and a wine bottle holder. All these prototypes have a very innovativeand unique shape.
The main concept behinds this work is that concrete, a material that is normally used for buildingconstruction, can also be used in an experimental and functional way for an aesthetic creation.
