Origami-inspired geometric furniture | Aljoud Lootah

These fascinating-looking designs are the work of Aljoud Lootah, a Dubai-based product designer, and are inspired by the folding process of origami. The Oru Series, as it is called, takes its name from the Japanese word “Oru”, meaning “to fold”, and takes inspiration from the idea of a design made from a flat sheet which is then folded into a 3D product. Aljoud’s creations are always combinations of traditional silhouettes and modern elements, complex yet simple, and we find them really beautiful. The stunning pieces are being displayed at Design Days Dubai, which is running at the moment, and which we’ll be bringing you more news about very soon…
