Housing the pavilions of Albania, Algeria, Egypt, Greece, Lebanon, Malta, Montenegro, San Marino, Serbia, and Tunisia is the Bio-Mediterranean Cluster. The Cluster celebrates the colours, tastes, and aromas of Mediterranean cuisine and is made up of a large, semi-covered plaza in the style of a typical Mediterranean town. Participation is key, and open air kitchens host special events like food preparation classes and cooking demonstrations, while visitors are able to taste and buy speciality products like olive oil, bread and wine from the buildings facing the central square. The colour palette of the Cluster is based on shades of blue, reminiscent of the Mediterranean sea. The story of places and food is told through images, literature and cinema inside the Cluster, allowing visitors to learn about the region connecting the continents of Europe, Africa and Asia.
