Postcards from Airports
Full Article 2 minutes read

It’s summertime. A season usually dedicated to holidays and travel. This year, however, things are a bit different.
While we can’t quite travel as freely yet due to the restrictions all over the world, perhaps traveling through images is the next best thing right now.

So the polish illustrator Mateusz Napieralski launched a personal project titled “Postcards from Airports”.
It’s a series of postcards inspired by previous trips and thoughts on them while sitting at airports. These illustrations are a visual response to these reflections.

“Since I can remember I’ve always been obsessed with airports. I love waiting for planes, exploring all the shops, reading books in the waiting area and observing people.”

Mateusz Napieralski now lives in Canada, working within his illustration practice Gust of Wind Studio.

“When flying home, airports always gave me the space to reflect on my recent adventures. While I was waiting for a plane in Vancouver, I imagined a postcard capturing highlights from my visit. I then decided to create a series based on some of my favorite trips from recent years.”
