We like creative Christmas installations, so we obviously think this floating Christmas tree in Corio Bay, Australia is great. The installation was developed by Creative Production Services, a creative agency based in Melbourne, and lighting designer Philip Lethlean, and it is the first floating Christmas tree in Australia. The creators wanted to take a step away from trees commonly seen in Australia which are similar to those seen in cold countries, despite the fact that the 25th December is bang in the middle of the Australian summer. The result is a large structure, covered in 11,000 reflective discs and illuminated with 28 different lighting sequences. This way, it is lit up at night, but also creates a sparkling effect in the summer sunlight.
