The Beach, by experimental studio Snarkitecture, is an art/architecture installation in the National Building Museum in Washington D.C. In an attempt to bring the beach to museum-goers, Snarkitecture installed an all-white installation resembling a beach, using drywall and scaffolding to section the area off from the rest of the museum. Inside, there are white sun loungers, umbrellas, and a whole sea of plastic balls. Visitors are invited to play and explore the monochromatic “beach”, sharing the experience with strangers just as they would at a real seaside location.
