Dan Goldstein is a creator who’s got an ingenious product on the pages of Kickstarter, a website that allows people like you and I fund various creative projects from around the world. With already $15,990 pledged toward his $10,000 goal, it’s safe to say that his “Re-Ply” cardboard chair is a hot commodity in the design community. It’s safe to say that cardboard is getting more and more popular in the world of affordable furniture.
Goldstein has collected various cardboard boxes from furniture manufacturers that have in turn undergone a process that helps to make them stronger and molded into a contemporary styled recliner on a triangular steel base. The built prototypes utilize a 4-ply stacked cardboard pattern which is molded, set and then folded to fit the custom shape. Read more about Goldstein’s project and purchase one of your own, here.
