How awesome is this bird mural? As you can perhaps tell from the super-detailed birds, the mural was done by a specialised scientific illustrator at Ink Dwell, who were commissioned by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. The 70′ x 40′ mural depicts the 375 million year evolution of birds, from the ancient Yutyrannus to the modern hummingbird, and over 260 species, including some now extinct, have been represented. The team completed one bird per day for over 14 months to get this massive mural finished in time for the Lab’s centennial.
