This versatile shelving unit concept was designed by Japanese studio Nendo (see more of their work here) for the London Design Festival this year. The Nest Shelf is an extendable carbon fibre unit with a larch veneer, and can double its original size depending on how the user wants to incorporate it into their space. The ability to decide how wide the unit is gives the end user more choices when it comes to finding a place for it in their home, and also means that furniture can be adjusted according to the space available if more or less becomes available, removing the need to throw one unit away and buy another.
