Sydney’s Sculpture by the Sea is back with the 18th annual Bondi exhibition.
The 2km sculpture park stretches from Bondi Beach to Tamarama Beach along the coastal walk and this year is bigger than ever, featuring over 100 sculptures by both Australian and foreign artists, 37 of them first time exhibitors. It is free to the public, starting last week and finishing on the 9th of November. The sculptures are hugely diverse, some abstract and minimal, others intricate, and others featuring more than a touch of humour (Andrew Hankin’s giant frying pan of sand, named We fryin’ out here, fits neatly into this category).
If it’s too late to get to Sydney, fear not. Sculpture by the Sea returns to Cottesloe Beach in Perth in March 2015, and will hit European shores in June 2015 for the 4th Biannial Aarhus Exhibition in Denmark.
