SPIRA is an interactive frame, charger and clock which is an alternative way to charge your mobile, and uses inductive technology to charge wirelessly, while holding the phone on the wall inside a frame. Using a special iPhone cover and an app, the phone can be magnetically attached to the frame and starts charging. The thermochromic frame paint shows you visually how charged your phone is, and when you remove the phone, the paint returns to its original colour. By turning the phone, a clock is displayed. It was Alice Robbiani‘s diploma project at ÉCAL – École Cantonale d’art de Lausanne, using Arduino technology, and is certainly an original idea!
