If you’ve ever shopped for clothes online, you’ll be familiar with one particular problem: which size to order? Are you small or medium, size 36 or 38, S/M or M/L? Sometimes the measurements vary so much from brand to brand that there’s no way of being sure without either ordering two sizes and sending one back, or risking that disappointing feeling when your new jeans don’t zip up.
XYZE is a new technology for fashion e-commerce which might just be able to solve this problem. The system consists of a smart measuring tape called ‘ON’, which is linked to an app which collects your body measurements in real time to create a digital profile (your XYZEID) and, in turn, is connected to various e-commerce sites. The creators have also designed a Tutorial App to teach you how to use XYZE correctly. The creators of XYZE wanted to make a product which wasn’t just useful for consumers but also for brands, and seem to have come up with an idea that works for both: you get clothes that fit, and shops benefit from more customer satisfaction and fewer returns.
From the 26th of January, you can order the ‘ON’ wearable measuring tape here, and you can learn more about XYZE on their website.
