You may remember Memobottle from our first post about it last year, or if you’ve read our recent interview with the two founders of the brand on 8 Questions With. If you hadn’t already heard of it, here’s a quick recap:
Memobottle came about as the idea of two Australian entrepreneurs who wanted to reduce the use of disposable plastic bottles in a stylish way which also made the bottles easily portable. Memobottle was launched on Kickstarter in 2014 and surpassed its funding goals in an amazingly short space of time, going on to be sold all around the world. The brand is growing fast, having expanded into Memobottle Nordics – the Nordic extension of the Global brand – earlier this year and also released their A6 bottle last month.
Memobottle Nordics was kind enough to send us Memobottle A5 to try out and show all of you, so here it is.
The A5 version holds 750ml of liquid (the new A6 version obviously holds less at 375ml) and is dishwasher safe. The Memobottle is much sturdier and sure to last longer than your average plastic bottle, and it doesn’t leak. The bottle’s shape means it slides neatly into a bag alongside books, laptops and the like, and will fit into smaller bags much better than a round bottle, so it’s very practical to carry around with you. Holding on to this shape of bottle gets a little bit of getting used to, but in the end it’s not impractical. The bottle doesn’t feel super stable standing up, so it’s better to leave it lying down when you’re not using it, but as many people have never seen anything like it, so it’s a great conversation piece to leave lying on your desk!
