We’d already had our own experiences of Bellroy wallets, but this was our first time using their leather phone cases. Bellroy sent us two, one in Java and the other in Black (they also come in Blue Steel and Tamarillo as well as all new Charcoal). The Black one is monotone, whereas the Java colour has a slightly contrasting side part (just as the Java wallet has a contrasting inside). Both are simple and unisex, with a simple and functional diamond shape on the back, and come in some very cute packaging.
The main structure of the cover is made from flexible polycarbonate (with a soft lining that means the back of your phone will remain unscratched) while the back exterior is made from the same leather that Bellroy uses for their other accessories. The leather will age naturally, just like the wallets, and the covers make your phone into a classy accessory. The cover also (obviously) protects your phone in case of mishaps, and it doesn’t feel flimsy at all.
On the back of the case, there’s a slot with space for one card (the company also makes a version with room for 3), so if you want to reduce bulk as you go about your business, you can pick your most important credit card and head out without a wallet. It’s easy to squeeze the card out of the slot and back in again with just your thumb – pretty useful when you’re out and about. On the inside of the case is a tiny little slot for a spare sim card for those of you who need to switch from one to another at a moment’s notice – a nice touch that goes to show that Bellroy has thought of everything.
Want one for yourself? Well either keep your eyes peeled, as there’s a Bellroy giveaway coming up on Feel Desain soon, or head over to Bellroy’s website to get your own right now.
