Heat-activated advertising | JCDecaux for McDonald’s

The sun’s out, it’s too hot, and you’d kill for an ice cream? Well, it sounds like McDonald’s latest advertising efforts would be right up your street! In the Netherlands, the fast food giant teamed up with agency JCDecaux to offer passers by a little cool refreshment on a particularly hot day. They filled a billboard with McFlurry cups and fitted it with a heat-sensitive panel. As soon as the temperature reached over 38.6°C, the front panel sprung open, and anyone who could grab one of the 100 cups got a free McFlurry at the nearest McDonald’s.
