Bruce Munro is famous for his outstanding, larger-than-life exhibitions. We featured his sea of CDs last year, and this year he has Light!, a commissioned garden-wide exhibition at Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania. Among the installations is Forest of Light which is made up of 20,000 stems of light that are strewn along a one kilometer winding path. Each orb emits a different hue with the help of color changing halogen projectors that are fitted with rotating color wheels.
“The unmatched beauty of Longwood gardens inspired me in so many ways,” shares Munro. “Creating works that speak to the landscape, but also enhance the natural beauty of the gardens was an exciting artistic challenge. I hope the guests will see in these works the beauty of melding light and the landscape to become one.”
