Hungarian designer Dénes Sátor came up with the idea of the Egg Map as a clever alternative to a traditional map. He wanted to give tourists a break from the frustrations of folding paper maps and finding WiFi hotspots in order to use digital mobile maps, so he designed a colourful rubber egg, filled with air, which can be carried in your hand, pocket, or bag. Printed on the egg is a tiny map, but when you squeeze a little, you’re able to manually zoom in on a particular area. Of course, being rubber, it’s almost indestructible and totally waterproof.
