These incredible night time images were created by David Gilliver, using the photographic technique in which he specialises. In order to create these images, mostly taken on the island of Guernsey in the Channel Islands, Gilliver uses a hand held light source at night, and no computer editing at all. According to how the light is used, a picture can be painted on top of the scene, or parts of the subject can be illuminated.
Although he didn’t grow up there, Guernsey has stolen Gilliver’s heart and provides him with constant inspiration for his photography. Given Gilliver’s expertise in this kind of photography style, he even runs workshops to teach other photographers how to create fantastic images like his.
