A series of 66 animated vintage book graphics

A series of 66 animated vintage book graphics called “Even More Covers” by  Henning M. Lederer.

Animator Henning Lederer is back with a third mesmerizing ode to modernist book design, reimagining 66 more covers as minimalist and op-art motion compositions anchored by austere Swiss typography.

As with the two previous films in the series (cleverly titled “Covers” and “More Covers”), most of the vintage graphics were sourced from the Instagram account of Julian Montague, an artist/designer/illustrator based in Buffalo, NY.

In 2015, we wrote about the short film “Covers” by German visual artist Henning M. Lederer who animated the geometric patterns of 55 vintage book covers. In 2017, Lederer followed up with “More Covers”, which featured animated vintage psychiatric books. In 2018, Lederer has returned with a third film of the series entitled “Even More Covers”, featuring 66 “new” colorful vintage book covers that have been animated in the same whimsical style.

Tilman Grundig’s soundtrack ensures that the playing field will stay level. No title is singled out for extra sonic attention.

That said, Noise by Rupert Taylor, an expert consultant in acoustics and noise control, stands apart for the humor and narrative sensibility of its visual representation.
