This pavilion was created for the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano – the non-profit group which has taken care of Milan’s iconic cathedral since the late 14th century. It features a life-size reproduction of the gilded, copper laminate Madonnina statue which is one of the most famous symbols of Milan. The statue has lived on top of the tallest of the Duomo’s spires since 1774 but few have seen it close up; the pavilion of the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo gives visitors a chance to get a closer look.
