This compact 3D printer costs only $179 and is called Tiko. The invention is currently seeking funding on Kickstarter, but if it goes into production could bring 3D printing into any of our homes, unlike traditional 3D printers which have a tendency to be prohibitively expensive. It weighs only 3.7lbs, is just over 9″ wide and 15″ high, and can create products with a maximum print volume of 138 cubic inches. The designers aimed to create a product which wouldn’t require constant maintenance, and could be used by anyone, and is perhaps even affordable enough to buy out of curiosity.
