After 20 years of expertise in the street wear fashion industry, the indipendent brand born from Diesel, 55DSL “regenerates and finds new energy”, as Andrea Rosso, creative director, states. Born in 1994, 55DSL has defined itself through contributing to the global action sports scene and giving young talent a platform for their work: the brand has always had its roots in fuelling creativity.
Founded initially in Bassano, north Italy, by Renzo Rosso and consequently directed by the creative director Andrea Rosso, whose expertise brought a wide range of collaborations, starting off with the surf champion Joel Tudor and following many other key sports figures along the years. Andrea Rosso tirelessly seeks out new collaborations every day with artists and companies of all genres all around the world, thus making 55DSL as much about the mind as the body. Wearing 55DSL means embracing a lifestyle and all participants are more than welcome to join in.
55DSL produced a fitting tribute to 20 years of their history, putting toghether all sorts of testimonials, from friends to employees, and mixed up exquisitely old and new footage from their archives; the documentary is capable of effectively conveing the 55DSL worldview of fuelling creativity.
