Certain photographs are recognisable the world over, and will likely remain important for many generations to come. Photographer Tim Mantoani decided to capture those photographs alongside the photographers responsible for them in his series Behind Photographs. He used a Polaroid 20×24 camera, weighing 235 pounds and with a film that costs $200 for every shot, and had each photographer write a description under their photograph in order to preserve the memory. This project required Mantoani to travel around for 5 years in order to photograph over 150 photographers, and Behind Photographs is available to buy as a book or eBook.
