Have you ever wondered why wheelchairs aren’t designed in the same cool, modern way as bikes? Well Andrew Slorance did, and he also came up with his own solution. Andrew had an accident as a teenager and was left as a permanent wheelchair user, but he hated the ugly appearance of his wheelchairs, and decided at age 16 that he was going to make something better. That’s how the Carbon Black chair came about over a 6 year period. The chair is not only fully functional (designed by a wheelchair user, it was bound to be that), but is a beautiful piece of design that adds identity to a medical aid. Made of Carbon Fibre, the chair is super lightweight, and features “less chair and more person”. You can read more about Carbon Black on their site.
