Modiface has created an augmented reality mirror which can show cosmetics or even cosmetic procedures in real-time. After many months of testing, the mirror is now on sale at $2,000 (ouch!) includes the latest iPad Air 2, and comes pre-loaded either with Skin Care or Anti-Aging. The Skin Care mirror allows you to “try on” over 5 thousand make-up products, and gives you recommendations based on your skin tone, as well as offering shade matching and the ability to try new hair colours and styles, too. The Anti-Aging model allows the same concept – previewing how something might look – except this version allows would-be patients to see what the results of a cosmetic procedere would look like from all angles before committing to going under the knife. The final product is the result of years of study into automatic face analysis and the development of award-winning signal processing algorithms. The mirror could easily be used by individuals but also by beauty brands, makeup stores, and even plastic surgeons.
