Women, wine, and have casual conversations on a wide variety of topics relating to creativity, business, and life: here’s the Ladies, Wine & Design‘s recipe.
Ladies, Wine & Design initiative is a series of events inspired by the NYC-based designer Jessica Walsh with the aim of empowering women working in the creative business in more than 180 cities all over the world.
On the occasion of Torino Graphic Days Vol. 03, Feel Desain supports the collaborative project Not Safe For Women curated by the ladies working at the Italian creative studio ILLO. The idea comes after a first workshop, where all the participants shot a series of short gifs and photographs in set design representing behaviors which are still considered not safe for a woman in the workplace according to what society or men think and expect – represented in a pop and ironic way.
Not Safe For Women Open Call
This time everyone can join the open call by giving their own interpretation of what they think is still considered, in 2018, an inappropriate behavior for women (and men), not only in the workplace but in all contexts, according to social, religious, cultural constraints which have been trying to push women’s empowerment back ever since the old days.
Deadline is set to September the 2nd, 2018. Download the complete brief here. Both women and men are welcome to join the call that will lead to an exhibition of the best artworks selected and shown in September at Illo creative studio in Turin, Italy.
The creative mind of Sagmeister & Walsh Jessica Walsh created Ladies, Wine & Design after doing a lot of thinking and reading on why there are so few women creative directors, and she believes we can change that through mentorship and championing others’ work. So join the open call and let us know your opinion on the topic!
