Eataly is one of Italy’s most famous food companies, and its pavilion at Expo was always going to be important considering the theme of this year’s World Fair. Unlike other pavilions which feature many exhibition spaces and interactive installations, the Eataly one is made up of restaurants which are run by regional hosts, and one exhibition space showing off Italy’s artistic heritage. Two permanent restaurants are run by Rossopomodoro and Fratelli Maioli, and twenty other restaurants change hands and menus each month, run by all kinds of restauranteurs from top celebrity chefs to cooks who make traditional Italian dishes. If you’re just after an ice cream or a light bite to eat, there are also six cafes, as well as wine and beer area.
