- “After completing my second year as student in Cross-Media design without any trouble. I used my vacation to spend more time with my girl, my passion – training athletics and illustrating. This project is a result of experimenting with new techniques to illustrate portraits and a passion for stories from legendary athletes in track and field. Myself, Bram Vanhaeren ran my first race when I was 5 years old and still compete today. It’s my favorite sport and I love to spend my evenings on the track with my friends.
After picking some of my favorite athletes, having fun illustrating and playing with colors. I have decided to share it with you. Five illustrations, five stories, five legends. My love translated in colors. “

EDWIN MOSES_
Edwin Corley Moses (born August 31, 1955) is a former American track and field athlete, who won gold medals in the 400 m hurdles at the 1976 and 1984 Olympics. Between 1977 and 1987, Moses won 107 consecutive finals (122 consecutive races) and set the world record in his event four times. In addition to his running, Moses was also an innovative reformer in the areas of Olympic eligibility and drug testing. In 2000, he was elected the first Chairman of the Laureus World Sports Academy, an international service organization of world-class athletes.

Frederick Carlton “Carl” Lewis (born July 1, 1961) is an American former track athlete and singer, who won 10 Olympic medals including 9 gold, and 10 World Championships medals, including 8 gold. His career spanned from 1979 when he first achieved a world ranking to 1996 when he last won an Olympic title and subsequently retired.
JESSE OWENS_
James Cleveland “Jesse” Owens (September 12, 1913 – March 31, 1980) was an American track and field athlete who specialized in the sprints and the long jump. He participated in the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, Germany, where he achieved international fame by winning four gold medals: one each in the 100 meters, the 200 meters, the long jump, and as part of the 4×100 meter relay team. He was the most successful athlete at the 1936 Summer Olympics, a victory more poignant and often noted because Adolf Hitler had intended the 1936 games to showcase his Aryan ideals and prowess.
USAIN BOLT_
The Honourable Usain St. Leo Bolt, OJ, C.D. ( born 21 August 1986), is a Jamaican sprinter and a five-time World and three-time Olympic gold medalist. He is the world record and Olympic record holder in the 100 metres, the 200 metres and (along with his teammates) the 4×100 metres relay. He is the reigning Olympic champion in these three events, and is one of only seven athletes (along with Valerie Adams, Veronica Campbell-Brown, Jacques Freitag, Yelena Isinbayeva, Jana Pittman, Dani Samuels) to win world championships at the youth, junior, and senior level of an athletic event.
ALLYSON FELIX_
Allyson Michelle Felix (born November 18, 1985) is a track and field sprint athlete, who competes internationally for the United States, primarily in the 200 meters. She also competes at the 100 meter and the 400 meter distances. She is a two-time Olympic silver medalist at the 200 meters, as well as being the only woman ever to be a three-time Athletics World Championship gold medalist for that distance. She is also an Olympic gold medalist, winning gold at the Beijing 2008 Olympics as a member of the United States’ women’s 4 × 400 meters team. As a participant in the US Anti-Doping Agency’s “Project Believe” program, Felix is regularly tested to ensure that her body is free of performance-enhancing drugs.- _ Step by step Animations + Close up work.
