Family Tree by Bobby Neel Adams

Bobby Neel Adams is interested in facial features, how our DNA is passed down in our family, and the effect ageing and environment have on the way we look. He explores this in a set of portraits called ‘Family Tree’. Here, similar photographs of family members are taken, torn in half, and then placed together to produce interesting melds of the characters. By placing the faces together, all the differences and similarities are highlighted while also making you think about your own identity and where your fundamental traits come from.

Bobby is originally from Black Mountain in North Carolina but now resides in New York. You can see his work in various collections, such as in the Houston Museum of Fine Art and in the Greenville Museum of Art.

Trovate i suoi lavori al Houston Museum of Fine Art e al Greenville Museum of Art.
