At Milan Expo, Romania invites visitors to learn about the country’s spirit and biodiversity as well as traditions, folklore and hospitality, and folklore character Lia (Ciocârlia) acts as a guide, either played by actors or represented by a hologram. The pavilion looks a lot like a traditional Romanian village, and has been designed on two levels which show interpretations of the richness and variety of the country’s natural resources, and the nation’s strong traditions. Eight exhibitions occupy different areas, and represent symbols of the romanian village, which “has the ability to revive and restore its values through tourism, agriculture, ecological produce and Romanian cuisine”. In the restaurant, visitors can taste dishes from around Romania.
