The Human-Alien Barrier: new sides of La Muralla Roja by Photographer Al Mefer

Spanish-based photographer and neuroscientist Al Mefer shares his newest photographs shot at ‘La Muralla Roja’ set by Ricardo Bofill in Alicante, Spain.

Titled ‘The human-alien Barrier’, the series discusses the possibility of outer space exploration as a means of finding a new home in other planets.

Al Mefer muses about the possibility of alien species rejecting the occupation of their planets by the humankind. The series represents a hypothetical barrier, made beautiful to outshine its initial purpose, protecting alien cities from humans. ‘The series hopes to stimulate the discussion about the immigration crises and how our current governments face it,’ explains the artist.
