Levitating interior objects, like table lamps or planters, is a growing trend in product design nowadays. One of such projects, titled Glow, has been recently developed by the Tokyo-based company Glowdesign. Glow is a lamp consisted of two parts: a wooden base, and a synthetic glowing crystal, floating in mid-air above it. The hovering effect is provided by magnetic levitation, created by the magnets inside the base and the crystal.
Glow works in two modes: Full Lighting, which intended to be used as a warm-colored task light, and Soft Glow, for creating an intimate relaxing atmosphere in a room.
