Aliaa Elmahdy | Nude Revolutionary Girl
Aliaa Elmahdy is an Egyptian girl who decided to protest the plight of women in Egypt by publishing some of her nude photos. The act of provocation aiming to break the taboo has been echoed immediately on the web and in particular on the social network Twitter. Since the photos were published on the internet many have questioned the identity of the girl photographed Aliaa up when he decided to reveal his real first name with a tweet. The girl, who calls himself “secular, liberal, individualistic vegetarian and Egyptian”, has already been promoting other initiatives on Facebook.
The nude photos are just the latest provocation by the young Egyptian revolution with the mission of “doing the echo of the cries against a society of violence, racism, sexism, sexual harassment and hypocrisy.” It goes back a few weeks ago the curious initiative “Men should wear a veil”, in which many participated by sending photos of men in hijabs, designed to protest against the wearing of the veil imposed on women in Muslim countries.
