Spanish studio Masquespacio is a favourite of ours, and their latest project is as colourful and fun as we’d expect from the Valencia-based creative consultancy firm. After 15 years of business, the Acadèmia Altimira English school in Barcelona needed a facelift. The owners wanted to rebrand and redecorate, focusing on appealing to kids, teenagers and young adults. The colours and materials are playful enough for the kids who learn at the school, but the design is modern enough to appeal to twenty-somethings. Walls do not go all the way to the ceiling and doors are made up of wooden slats, in order to make the most of the natural light available. All of the areas are geared towards the school’s recitation classes and face to face learning style, as well as featuring a study area for students to learn alone. You can check out more of Masquespacio’s projects on their website.
